FAQs
Coffee and Origin
What makes Sierra de las Minas coffee distinct from other regional origins?
Our coffees are grown at extreme elevations between 1,440 and 1,800 MASL in the unique microclimates of the Sierra de las Minas cloud forests. The volcanic basalt terrain, dense morning mist, and sharp temperature drops slow down cherry maturation, resulting in exceptional bean density, complex acidity, and cup profiles unique to our estate.
Do you accommodate custom roasting profiles for specific varietals?
Yes. For our registered site members, we can adjust roasting profiles to better suit espresso or filter preparation methods. If you are ordering exceptional micro-lots like our Gesha or Maragogype Honey and have specific requirements, please contact our concierge directly before placing your order.
What is the physical difference between your Maragogype and Pacamara beans?
The Maragogype is a natural mutation known as the "Elephant Bean," producing massive, elongated seeds with a refined, light-bodied, and floral cup. Pacamara is a robust hybrid of Pacas and Maragogype; it inherits the large leaf structure and oversized seeds from its parent but presents a highly complex, savory-sweet flavor profile with intense high-altitude acidity.
Orders
Why does De las Minas require an account to check out?
Because specialty coffee is a perishable agricultural product, all sales at De las Minas are final. We do not issue monetary refunds if an order is delayed or held by destination customs authorities. However, if your order arrives with a verified quality defect, please alert our concierge within 7 days so we can arrange a credit or upgrade on your future estate selections.
Can I input a phone number for shipping delivery issues?
While a phone number is optional at checkout to protect your privacy, we highly recommend providing one for international logistics. Couriers require a local recipient contact number to resolve delivery complications or coordinate precise gate codes.
Delivery
Do you ship specialty coffee internationally, and how are customs handled?
Yes. We ship our high-altitude varietals worldwide directly from our operations. To guarantee transparency, all international shipments are routed via premium carriers (such as FedEx) and are subject to local customs clearances. We provide real-time tracking numbers the moment your order transitions to completed.
Why does De las Minas require an account to check out?
To protect the integrity of our digital platform and shield our payment gateways from automated fraud and carding attacks, we utilize a secure, member-only checkout flow. Your private details are heavily protected by invisible honeypots (WP Armour) and Google reCAPTCHA v3 privacy handshakes.
